Passive Fire Surveyor – Nationwide (Regional Offices Coming Soon)

Location: Working nationwide initially (regional offices forthcoming)
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 (DOE)

I am looking for a Passive Fire Surveyor to join a leading fire protection specialist. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality passive fire protection solutions across the UK, working with major clients across a range of sectors, including commercial, healthcare, education, and residential. With continuous growth, they are now expanding operations and will be introducing regional offices to reduce the need for extensive travel in the future.

The Role

As a Passive Fire Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring buildings meet fire safety regulations through comprehensive surveys and assessments. You will be responsible for inspecting fire protection measures, identifying non-compliance issues, and providing recommendations for remedial action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed surveys of fire doors, fire stopping, compartmentation, and other passive fire protection systems to ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations.
  • Identify defects and non-compliance issues, documenting findings and advising on necessary remedial works.
  • Work closely with contractors, site managers, and clients to ensure fire protection installations meet industry standards.
  • Provide guidance on fire door maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
  • Stay up to date with fire safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Use digital software for recording survey data and producing reports.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: At least 2 years in passive fire protection surveying, including fire door inspections and fire stopping.
  • Trade Background: Ideally from a carpentry or fire-stopping background, with hands-on experience.
  • Qualifications: Any of the following would be advantageous:
    • Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) Diploma
    • ASFP, SSSTS, SMSTS, IPAF
    • NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection
    • Any relevant fire safety training or accreditations (training can be provided for missing qualifications).
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.

Additional Information
